2. What personal data are gathered and stored and how are they used?
a. Visit to the website
Through the browser used on your terminal device, information is automatically sent to the server of our website when accessing our website www.beta-layout.com. These data are temporarily stored in a log file. In detail, the following data are stored in this context:
- IP address of the requesting computer (only encrypted)
- date and time of access
- name and URL of the file accessed
- website from which the access occurred (referrer URL)
- browser used and, where applicable, the operating system of your computer and the name of your access provider
These data are exclusively evaluated for statistical and system-related purposes, in particular for connection and in order to ensure system security and stability, and are subsequently erased. They are not forwarded to third parties.
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interests result from the above mentioned purposes for data collection. We do not create any personal user profiles.
b. Order process
Within the scope of the online order process, we collect apart from the reference values of the printed circuit board order (pcb type, size, file name etc.) also the following personal data:
- company name
- name of contact person
- address
- phone number
- fax number
- e-mail address as well as
- when payment mode "credit card" is selected, the credit card number, the expiry date, the credit card type, the owner and the security code
We collect these data in order to be able to identify you for processing, fulfillment and handling of your purchase order, for correspondence and feedback with you regarding your purchase order, for invoicing, for settlement of possible liability claims as well as for the assertion of possible claims against you in order to ensure technical administration of our website and for management of our customer data.
Collection of the data is required for the purposes mentioned and is in our legitimate interests. The legal basis are Art. 6 subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR and Art. 6 subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
The personal data collected by us for the processing of your purchase order are stored up to expiration of the statutory period of retention and are subsequently erased, unless we are obliged to store the data for a longer period of time pursuant to Art. 6 subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR due to retention and documentation duties under tax and commercial law (from the German Commercial Code (HGB), Criminal Code (StGB) and Tax Code (AO), or if you consented to further storage pursuant to Art. subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.
c. Customer Account
Prior to your first online order transaction your are asked to create a customer account on our website which can only be accessed by you. Registration occurs optionally on the basis of Art. 6 subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR by way of the double-opt-in process.
Ordering in the online shop is only one of several order options. Alternatively, ordering by e-mail under info.uk@beta-layout.com or by fax under +49 (0) 6120 907014 is possible at any time.
On your customer account only the data required for the order process as well as your order history are collected and stored. Use of the data is exclusively limited to execution of the order.
Storage occurs in order to permit easier operation of our information and order offer during follow-up of the current purchase order or in the case of a subsequent order.
The data stored can be viewed at any time under the menu item "My orders". Here, you can also update the data in order to avoid difficulties when the purchase order is delivered.
When you withdraw your consent (see below Clause 6.e.), your customer account will be promptly deleted.
d. Newsletter
You can subscribe to a free newsletter on our website. Registration for the newsletter occurs by express consent pursuant to Art. 6 subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR by means of the opt-in process. After registration, you will receive an e-mail asking you for confirmation of your registration. This confirmation is required so that nobody can register with a third party e-mail address. The legal basis is Art. 6 subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.
For receipt of the newsletter, indication of an e-mail address is sufficient. We use your data for sending information ordered by you regarding our offer and other special offers to the e-mail address indicated by you.
We want you to enjoy reading our e-mails. Therefore we try and communicate only such content which will probably interest you. Therefore, we measure and store opening and click rates, hence whether and when you open our e-mails, what content of the e-mails you click and whether and why our e-mails could possibly not be delivered. The data are also used for statistical purposes. The purposes mentioned for data collection for optimisation of our newsletter service are in our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
Of course you can opt-out of receiving our information at any time, i.e. withdraw your consent with effect for the future. For this purpose, you can find in each e-mail and/or newsletter a corresponding unsubscribe link and you can confirm the unsubscription on our website. You can also contact us for a withdrawal at any time.
The newsletters are sent by MailChimp, a mailing service provider of Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave # 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. The Rocket Science Group LLC is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement, which provides a guarantee to comply with European data protection standards (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000TO6hAAG&status=Active).
The use of a newsletter service provider is based on our legitimate interests to Art. 6 subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR and a contract processing agreement acc. Art. 28 (3) sentence 1 GDPR.
The newsletters contain a so-called "web beacon", iE, a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the server when opening the newsletter from our server, or if we use a newsletter service provider. In the course of this action, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of the retrieval are collected.
This information is used to improve the technical performance of services based on their specifications or audience and their reading habits, based on their locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or access times. The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked.

Beta LAYOUT GmbH and their affiliated subsidiaries forward the data for internal administration purposes including joint customer care within the company group insofar as this is required.
The data are forwarded to third parties exclusively for processing of your orders to vicarious agents and the parcel service charged with delivery (UPS, GLS & DHL) or courier as well as the bank charged with payment matters.
In the case of payment with credit card, we will forward your payment data for payment processing to Global Payments (Realex), 7-11 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Dublin 2, Ireland who reserve the right to verify credit worthiness. During a credit worthiness evaluation, a score value is calculated by means of a mathematical method which provides information on your capacity to pay. Forwarding of the data for the purposes mentioned occurs in our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 subsection 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
